Account deletion
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This page is about the Duskhearth app, developed by Cristian Palestrini. You can delete your account at any time, on your own, right from the app: you don't need to contact us. If you can no longer sign in, you can ask us by email (section 4).
See also the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If this page and its Italian version ever differ, the Italian version prevails.
1. How to delete your account in the app
- Open Duskhearth and sign in.
- On the Home screen, tap your avatar and name at the top left: this opens Your account.
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Danger zone section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Type CONFIRM (all uppercase) in the field that appears and confirm. The account is deleted immediately and the app takes you back to the sign-in screen.
If you have an active subscription (Hero or Legend), cancel it first in the App Store or Google Play: deleting your account doesn't cancel the subscription, which is managed by the store, and doesn't entitle you to a refund. You can also reach the store's subscription page from the app, under Your account → Plan → Manage subscription.
2. What is deleted
- Your sign-in account (managed by Firebase Authentication): it is deleted, and you can no longer sign in with the same credentials.
- Email address and display name: replaced with anonymous values.
- Avatar: if you had uploaded your own photo, the file is deleted from our servers.
- Preferences: language, notifications, age confirmation and consent to share data with the AI.
- Your membership in campaigns: you leave every campaign you were playing in.
3. What is kept, and why
- Characters and actions in shared campaigns. The character you created and the actions you wrote during turns stay in the campaign's story. Otherwise deleting your account would break the story for everyone who keeps playing. Your name and email no longer appear in the campaign: an anonymous profile takes your place.
- Campaigns you created stay available to the other players in them.
- A fingerprint of your sign-in identifier. We keep a SHA-256 hash of the technical identifier the app used to recognize you. It doesn't contain your email, your name or any other data about you: it is only used to recognize a sign-in session that is still open, for example on another device, and block it, so the deleted account doesn't become active again by mistake. If you later sign up again with the same email, you start with a new account.
- Technical data and subscription history. The plan you had, the subscription events we received from the store (never payment details, which we don't receive) and AI usage counts stay linked to the anonymous profile, without your email or name.
- Reports. Reports you made or that concern you, and the decisions taken, stay linked to the anonymous profile for as long as they are needed to close the report and answer any appeal.
This data is kept together with the anonymous profile, with no fixed expiry: once your email and name are removed, it no longer lets us identify you.
Backups. We back up the database every day, so we can restore it after a failure. Backups taken before the deletion still contain your profile as it was: we delete them on a rolling basis, each one 30 days after it was taken, so a month after the deletion none are left. Until then they are used only to restore the service.
Emails you sent us. If you sent us feedback or a support request, that message stays in our mailbox. If you want us to delete it, ask us by email (section 4).
4. Can't sign in to the app?
If you can no longer get into the app (lost device, forgotten password you can't recover, blocked account, or anything else), write to support@duskhearth.app with the subject "Account deletion". Write from the email address you signed up with, so we can check that the account is yours. If you can't use it, say so in your message and we'll ask you for another way to verify it.
We delete the account and remove the data as described above within 30 days of your request, and we reply when it's done.
